The Bowen Technique

The Bowen Technique is a gentle, hands-on, non-invasive therapy that encourages the body to realign and heal itself. It involves a series of rolling type moves over muscles, tendons, ligaments and soft tissue, which helps to promote healing, improve energy levels and reduce pain. Sessions are generally carried out on a treatment couch but can equally be done effectively in a seated position.

The Bowen Technique was developed in Australia by Tom Bowen in the 1950's and only started to be taught and practiced outside Australia in the 1980's.

Usually 2 - 3 treatments are enough to encourage some improvement and change. Bowen is such a gentle and non-invasive therapy that it is regarded as safe and effective for people of all ages, including new born babies and the elderly.
